"It's the most dark near the points of light" is a self-published zine, A5 size (one printed drawing + 4 pages of text), which opens with a drawing where I created darkness using soft pencil, and within the darkness -points of light using a glow marker. In it, I write about the process and what I learned from it - insights about darkness, light, and the creative process / life.

The zine name comes from my realization through the process - that it's the darkest right next to the marker / the points of light because in order to keep the pencil from going over the marker, you have to color carefully, and to be precise the pencil needs to be sharp, and when it's sharp, it's the darkest.

This connected ,for me, to something about life.
That before the light comes the darkness.

And during the period when I made the drawing and wrote the text - a year ago ( 2025 ) - the state of the world seemed to be getting worse and worse, I was seeing too much darkness. That affected my creative work too - how can you create when there's so much darkness all around?

​

The state of the world hasn't really improved since then, but I did come to understand the importance of making art and if it can touch even one person, spark hope, and give inspiration - I'm happy with my part in that.
